LAHORE: Punjab Minster on Human Rights and Minority Affiars Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has adopted zero tolerance policy regarding protection of minority’s rights.
While meeting with political secretary of Australian High Commission in Pakistan Lachlan Mclead in Lahore he said that situation of rights of woman and children in Punjab are far better than other provinces. By providing awareness regarding laws of human rights, it will help to educate the people, he said.
He said that the Punjab government by evolving religious scholars from all school of thoughts is promoting interfaith harmony. He said that the Punjab government has established provincial task force on human rights to ensure implementation of laws.
The government is paying special attention towards the right of women, children, prisoners, and the people belong to poorest strata of the society he added. He said that the situation of education and the employment opportunities in Punjab is better than past. Punjab government will soon present new legislation on honour killing, he said.
